What Home Means to Me

Today it's my turn to participate in 'Pin it Forward' and post what home means to me. But first, a big thanks to Victoria over at sfgirlbybay for organizing all this. Also for letting us in on the wonder that is Pinterest. I have had my eyes opened to a whole new world of inspiration and eye candy these past weeks. It is such a great tool for cataloging ideas and photos found on the www and so much prettier than file folders on your desktop. Bird's Eye View

Jeremy is speaking at a conference in Miami on Thursday and he decided a red-eye flight was to be his means of arriving there. Yuck. I much prefer flying at a time of day I can enjoy the view from the window seat. If you stop to think about it, the opportunity to sit in the window seat of an airplane really is under appreciated. Common people do it by the thousands day in and day out and it is even passed up by many who prefer aisle seats. We take it for granted. Seriously though, we are FLYING. We are 35,000 feet above the surface of the earth and we can look down at it's mountains, canyons, rivers, fields, cities, weather patterns, etc. How incredible is that? Well The NY Times asked for photo submissions from people who do appreciate the view from the window seat. What they got was incredible. I posted a few of my favorites below. California Dreamin

Lately I've been really in the mood to go to California. It might have something to do with the stormy weather we Portlanders have been experiencing. (And are SO over.)

I am dying to:

see a palm tree or two

sip a lemonade by the pool

view some atomic ranch loveliness

enjoy the sun-bleached color of the mid-century glamour that is Palm Springs.

Did the Easter bunny bring you good things? If all you got were marshmallow bunnies and a few jelly beans then treat yourself to some affordable vintage/vintage inspired jewelry!
