A Little Advice Please...

The day after tomorrow I'm leaving town. Jer and I are headed to "Fabulous Las Vegas" to spend Memorial weekend with his family.
My agenda for the trip:
spend lots of time
(1) in the pool
(2) reading
(3) drawing
(4) listening to this and this
Sounds pretty fabulous, right? Well, I need your help. I want a really good book to read and I'm not sure what to choose. I'd like something light enough to quickly get into and want to keep turning those pages (it's vacation after all), but also heavy/well-written enough to provoke some thinking and inspiration. The Secret Life of Bees fits this description perfectly for me if that helps you narrow it down. So there you have it... your mission should you choose to accept: recommend the perfect book for my travels. Please and thank you. <3

Just The Girls

Last week when my mom was in town we had a 'girls day out'. Didgya know that House of Vintage got a photobooth? Photobooths are my favorite. I'm gonna have my very own one day... mark my words. You can come over and play in it, it will be great fun. Anyways, the point of this super duper crazy late post is to inform you that future 'girls days out' (how should I pluralize that?) will include Little One. That's right, girl parts. I can't tell you how much more fun life is now that I know. Not that it wouldn't be if I was having a boy, but knowing changes everything. Now when I think about the future of our little family I can picture more of the details. Pigtails, My Little Pony's and dance recitals. What fun.

Like Christmas Eve

I'm real excited and a little nervous... tomorrow morning we have an ultrasound and we'll finally know if Little One has girl parts or boy parts. What's your guess?

Weekend Update

This weekend I:
*got to play with my friend from Salt Lake who came for a visit
*ate Skinnidip twice
*bought a book about Walker Evans that has me so inspired... I'm in love with photography all over again
*stayed busy enough to avoid packing many of the moving boxes that are lying around
*got the keys to our new condo and saw it at night for the first time
*saw this movie as part of my nephew's 3rd Birthday celebration (my favorite part was the baby ducks jumping from the tree... so brave!)
Before the movie started, I got to see this trailer again and I can't even tell you how much I'm looking forward to this movie. Just thinking about it makes me want furry pajamas with ears and a tail. And a crown. And then to howl at the sun while wearing them.

Create your happy life

Morning sickness zapped all my creative energy for weeks on end. Now that I am feeling better, I have been super antsy to get back to work. SO many ideas. The video below gives me the chills. I just love that Elder Uchtdorf.

ps- Thanks to Sara for making me aware of this video's existence.

I'm not sure this is the type of creating he meant, but I just discovered the most funnest way to waste time ever! Polyvore.com lets you browse millions of clothes and accessories and put together outfits. It's like window shopping + paper dolls on steroids. Uh-mazing. Here's the first one I came up with... won't be the last!

For a Day When You Wonder if You're Enough...

...But God has big plans for you.
The beginnings of a drawing I'm doing for Jeremy:
And speaking of Jeremy, take a looksy at his real smart blog... he's out to solve the world's financial problems.
