Peapod Treasures

Did the Easter bunny bring you good things? If all you got were marshmallow bunnies and a few jelly beans then treat yourself to some affordable vintage/vintage inspired jewelry! I recently had the pleasure of meeting the gal behind Peapod Treasures. She's real sweet and her jewelry creations are too. (But with a little funk so they're not too sweet.) She's got that formula perfected and I had a hard time narrowing down my choices of what to purchase. Below are 2 of the 3 I decided on. Check out the rest of the fabulous options in her shop!

Little Feet

Just stumbled upon this bib tutorial which is darling but what really grabbed my attention was those sweet little bow shoes. I immediately scouted them out online and two pairs are presently making their way to my doorstep. One pair for Gemma and the other for a sweet girl I'm looking forward to meeting in the near future. Can't wait!

Blue Monday

Went thrift shopping with my Mom and at Red, White and Blue and I found the above blue treasures. We also went to the doctor where G got three shots and then on to the DMV. If that's not a blue Monday, I don't know what is.

ps- apologies, apologies... I pressed "save" the other day instead of "publish" so this post is just showing up on Thursday... oops! :)

Button Bling

I've been looking for some cute understated baby headbands for quite a while with no real luck. I had nearly given up when I realized how incredibly easy they would be to make. A little ribbon, some elastic and maybe a button or two. Here's what I've come up with. Don't you think Gemma looks like a doll in them?

ps- I know I completely failed the whole blog-post-a-day thing... I just wasn't dedicated enough to get creative when presented with the whole no-internet-at-my-house-at-all-for-days-and-days obstacle. Sue me.

Surprising combinations and unexpected layers make for great looks that aren't trying too hard.
I'll take one of each please.

Create your happy life

Morning sickness zapped all my creative energy for weeks on end. Now that I am feeling better, I have been super antsy to get back to work. SO many ideas. The video below gives me the chills. I just love that Elder Uchtdorf.

ps- Thanks to Sara for making me aware of this video's existence.

I'm not sure this is the type of creating he meant, but I just discovered the most funnest way to waste time ever! Polyvore.com lets you browse millions of clothes and accessories and put together outfits. It's like window shopping + paper dolls on steroids. Uh-mazing. Here's the first one I came up with... won't be the last!

Welcome Spring

Reminiscing #2: Family Time

At the beginning of August I got to spend 9 days with my fam. The first leg of the trip was in Dallas- just me, Mom, and Angie. Some highlights:

*Asking our waiter if he'd "ever tried the Wiener Schnitzel?" (I never claimed to be mature)

*Shopping with stellar shopping companions

*Discovering these shoes:

*Getting my fill of Chik-Fil-A... WHY do they not exist in the NW? We have a serious shortage of waffle fries in our part of the country!

The next leg was in OK at Angie's place where I got to play with her beautiful kiddos:

Finally, Mom and I went back to Denver where Jer flew in and we hung out with my Dad and Bro. We went to a Rockies Game, watched the Olympics, experienced freakishly cold/wet weather, and went to the Denver Art Museum. My favorite part was the Clyfford Still exhibit, soon to become the Clyfford Still Museum. So inspiring. I also loved all the interactive parts of the museum including this wall where anyone could post their definition of 'Art'. It made me want to have a wall in my house where the people who visit can post their thoughts and ideas. How do you define art?
Oh yeah, and I loved this quote so much I talked the security guard into letting me leave it on my camera (he busted me for taking pictures of the temporary exhibit and made me delete the rest). The quote makes me feel like my snapshot style of photography is indeed valuable.

Autumn around the corner...

Wow! I cannot believe that we're a week away from Labor Day! A few things I'm looking forward to this coming Fall/Winter:

*Another season of The Office
*Football games

*My new boots
*Snowboarding with the husband

*Ang, my marvelous sister, and her cute family are moving to Corvallis. That's only 1.5 hours from me!!!

BUT, I'm not ready to let go of summer quite yet. It's been a busy one and I've neglected to blog about much of it. So, my next several posts will consist of some reminiscing. Stay tuned!
